On the second day, you will drive from Guptkashi to Gaurikund, which is located about 30 km away and takes roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour by road. Gaurikund is the starting point for the 16 km trek to Kedarnath, which usually takes 6-8 hours depending on your pace. The trek is moderately difficult, with steep climbs and beautiful views along the way. You can take rest breaks at several points to enjoy the scenic beauty. Once you reach Kedarnath, perform your darshan at the Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, located at a high altitude of 3,580 meters (11,746 feet). Afterward, you can participate in the evening aarti at the temple, which adds to the spiritual experience. You will stay overnight in Kedarnath.

On the third day, you will begin your return trek from Kedarnath to Gaurikund. The 16 km trek back takes approximately 6-8 hours, and while it’s mostly downhill, it can still be tiring. After completing the trek, you will drive from Gaurikund to Guptkashi, covering the 30 km journey in about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Guptkashi, you can relax and rest after a physically demanding day. You’ll spend the night in Guptkashi.

On the fourth day, you will drive from Guptkashi to Badrinath, a distance of approximately 190 km, which will take around 7-8 hours by road. The journey offers stunning views of the mountains and rivers, passing through the town of Joshimath, which is an important stop on the way. In Joshimath, you can take a short break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. After reaching Badrinath, which is located at an altitude of 3,133 meters (10,279 feet), you can check into your accommodation and prepare for the Badrinath Temple visit. You will visit the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, one of the holiest temples in India. The temple’s sanctity, along with the surrounding beauty of the Himalayas, creates a deeply spiritual atmosphere. You’ll spend the night in Badrinath.

The fifth day is dedicated to exploring Badrinath and its sacred sites. Start with an early morning darshan at the Badrinath Temple, which is renowned for its mystical energy and divine presence. Afterward, you’ll visit Tapt Kund, the natural hot spring near the temple, where pilgrims take a dip before entering the temple. Next, explore Mana Village, the last village on the Indo-Tibetan border. Mana is rich in mythological significance, and here you can visit Vyas Gufa (the cave of Sage Vyasa) and Bhim Pul (a natural stone bridge believed to have been created by Bhim, the Pandava). You’ll have plenty of time for meditation and reflection in the serene Himalayan surroundings before returning to your hotel for the night in Badrinath.

The ideal time for Do Dham Yatra is May–June and September–October when the weather is most favorable and the temples are open. The monsoon months (July–August) are usually not recommended due to road blockages and risk of landslides.
